It has been over 5000 years since the great war of the Immortals threatened to tear the land asunder. During a time of great upheaval and strife 3 great empires have managed to rise to dominance on the central continent of Orlanthea. There is the draconian nation Vredia that once worshiped the now-dead god Xandreltih and ruled by Dragonborn that resides on the Northeast of the continent. There was the Human Empire Sanguis in the Southeast, this tiny empire was also once the most powerful. The humans who ruled it discovered the blood arts and are ruthless in their rule but now their empire, built on the suffering of others, has collapsed and fallen into chaos. To the west lies the great empire of some unlikely allies in Elves, Dwarves, and Tieflings... taking up nearly the entire western half of the continent. Though vast, the might of this empire is the least shown. To the South in the vast desert sits a small nation and vast unclaimed territory. A small swath of land separates the human and draconian empires, the rulers of these lands have yet to make themselves known despite their vast powers, all 3 empires have recognized the city of Veradon as an independent and neutral city. For it is here that the mercenary guilds have made their home and HQ. This guild is home to the most powerful mercenaries on Orlanthea, any one of which could single-handedly topple a small nation. The cities central location to all 3 empires has brought great wealth to it and the guilds that reside there, as all 3 empires seek help from the mercenaries to rid their lands of troubles while they wage war.
